
Manama: The veteran Pakistan billiard player, Muhammad Asif, advanced to the final of the Sibsf World Masters billiard championship with an impressive 4-2 victory over Manan Chandra of India in the semifinal held Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain.
The former world fans champion showed a great determination, bouncing after losing an early picture to wear the 4-2 game. Marco scores were 118-6, 0-84, 25-76, 92-11, 87-62 and 72-41.
Asif began the game by a maximum, since it completely exceeded Chandra 118-6 in the framework of opening.
Chandra, however, responded strongly when he won the next two paintings to take the lead, only for Asif won three consecutive frames to round a victory.
In the final, Muhammad Asif will face Vijay Nichani or BrijEsh Damani of India, who previously defeated him in the group stage.
A day earlier, Pakistan has Akhtar also qualified for the final Sibsf World U17 billiard championship by defeating Oliwier Niziack 4-0 from Poland.
The Cueist in form, which until now has lost only one painting in its dominant campaign, took early control of the party sealing three consecutive frames.
Niziack, who could not score in two digits in each of the first three paintings, offered some fight in the forced contest, but his efforts were insufficient for Down to Down, who won a perfect 4-0 victory with the 76-1, 69-8, 88-0 and 62-37 box scores.
Hasnain Akhtar will face Riley Powell de Wales in the final, scheduled to play on Friday.
In particular, the 16-year-old booked his place in the semifinal of the Sibsf World U17 billiard championship with a resounding 3-1 victory over Krzysztof Czapnik in Poland.
