Islamabad:
Pakistan and Libya have agreed to improve bilateral defense cooperation through industrial collaboration and the exchange of technical experience, in an attempt to address evolving regional security challenges, military media wing reported on Friday.
According to Public Relations between Services (ISPR), understanding was achieved during a meeting between the head of the Army staff (COAS), the Syed Field Marshal Also Munir and the commander in chief of the Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces Libias, Saddam Khalifa Haftar, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional dynamics and emerging security threats, while expressing commitment to strengthening defense ties between the two countries.
Upon arriving at GHQ, Lieutenant General Haftar was presented with an honor guard by Pakistan’s army. He also placed a crown of flowers in the Yadgar-E-Shuhada to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan army.

Later in the day, the Libyan Commander in Chief, accompanied by a delegation, called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
Welcome to the visiting dignitary, the prime minister expressed hope of greater collaboration between Pakistan and Libya in multiple sectors, including defense, economy and people exchanges to people.
The two parties maintained discussions about the improvement of bilateral ties, with a particular approach to security cooperation and shared regional interests. Lieutenant General Haftar thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for the warm hospitality that extended to him and his delegation during the visit.
