NYT Connections Today (game #769) – The answers

- Yellow: Drinking water sources Rain, spring, touch, good
- Green: Things you can do with a football ball Pass, take off, snap, spike
- Blue: sharp fasteners Brad, nails, pointer, tachuela
- Purple: early ninja turtles mutant teenagers Don, Leo, Mic, Rap
- My qualification: Hard
- My score: Fail
Today I was at a different disadvantage, not knowing anything about football (of the American guy) or mutant ninja turtles, but that was not the reason why I crashed.
As many, I’m sure, seeing Brad and Leo next to each other on the board immediately made me think of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, so I spent ages trying to find one group that had something to do with Once upon a time in Hollywood – Waste an error in a wild assumption.
My next three mistakes arrived before even had a single correct group. Thinking I was looking for a group of things you could hammer, I selected nails, pin, tachuela and spike.
After taking out one, I tried Snap instead of Spike and then, possessed by another ‘One Away’, Spring. Ah, well, you can’t win them all. Or hammer them all.
NYT Connections responses yesterday (Friday July 18 Game #768)
- Yellow: sequence Run, series, streak, chain
- Green: Take Catch, note, see, place
- Blue: Yoga Backbends Bridge, Cobra, Vaca, Rueda
- Purple: Electric -___ Manta, Anguilla, Guitar, Slide
What are NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the several increasingly popular words games made by the New York Times. It challenges him to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple generally very difficult.
On the positive side, he technically does not need to solve the end, since he can answer it for an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you some space to breathe.
However, it is a bit more involved than something like Wordle, and there are many opportunities for the game to move you with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other words games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free through the Nyt Games site in desktop or mobile.
