Libya, Pakistan’s military bosses discuss security

The commander in chief of Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces Libyas, Saddam Khalifa, called the Syed Mariscal also Munir on Friday at the general headquarters.

The meeting covered the discussion on matters of mutual interest, the regional dynamics, security challenges and issues related to defense cooperation, said a press release issued by the ISPR.

Both leaders agreed to undertake an industrial collaboration for defense and exchange of technical experience to address contemporary security challenges.

Upon arrival at GHQ, he placed a crown of flowers in the Yadgar-E-Shuhada to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan army.

Lieutenant General Haftar also called the head of Naval Personnel (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf here on Friday at the Naval Headquarters.

Upon reaching the naval headquarters, the commander in chief of the Libyan Armed Forces was received by the staff of the Naval Personnel, said a press release issued by the General Directorate of Public Relations (Pak Navy).

During the meeting, both leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, regional maritime security and ways for greater cooperation in training and defense.

Lieutenant General Haftar together with his delegation called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Met, in the Prime Minister’s Chamber here on Friday and discussed matters of mutual interest.

On this occasion, the prime minister welcomed the Libyan Commander in Chief and his delegation to Pakistan.

The meeting discussed cooperation between the two countries in several fields.
