Earlier this month, the Milwaukee Bucks resigned from the star guard Damian Lillard.
On Thursday, ESPN reported that the nine-time All-Star and the Portland Trail Blazers were ending a three-year contract to bring Lillard with the only other NBA franchise for which he had played.
Lillard was recruited by the Trail Blazers and spent his first 11 seasons with Portland.
It has the record of the greatest number of points in the history of the franchise. On Friday, Lillard turned to social networks to express his enthusiasm for the meeting.

Lillard will probably be marginalized the entire 2025-26 season while continuing to recover from the Achilles tear he suffered in the NBA playoffs at the end of April.

Bucks still owe Lillard $ 113 million, and payments are expected to stretch over the next five years, according to the report. The 35-year salary for the 2025-26 season will increase to $ 70 million due to its profits from the Portland and Milwaukee agreements.

The Blazers fought without Lillard, ending last season with a 36-46 record and running out of the playoffs.
ESPN also reported that Lillard attracted the interest of multiple “NBA contestants”, but chose the team with which he had the greatest familiarity.
