Ravens’ Lamar Jackson eager to see Beyoncé’s halftime show: ‘Sorry guys’

The Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans have a big matchup on Wednesday afternoon in a game that will have an impact on playoff seeding.

But Wednesday’s game will be played on Christmas Day as part of a special slate of matchups that will be featured on Netflix. Beyoncé will perform at halftime of the Ravens-Texans game and NFL MVP contender Lamar Jackson is already planning to be on the field for that.

He said he wouldn’t be disappointed about not being able to watch because he’ll be out there.

“I’m going to go out and watch,” he told reporters Monday. “First time seeing Beyoncé perform, and it’s at our game, that’s great. I’m going to go out and watch. Sorry [head coach John] Harbaugh, I’m sorry. “Sorry guys.”

The Ravens’ star quarterback has become an irreplaceable player. He has put himself in the running for a second consecutive NFL MVP award, as he has the team atop the AFC North division and in play for home-field advantage during the playoffs.

If he somehow surpasses Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen for the award, it would be a third time for him.

“Yeah [does] happens, happens, [and] That would be great. thrice [winning it]but like you said, I’m not really focused on that,” he said. “That’s never been my goal, though. Even [with] the first or the second, [winning MVP has] It has never been my goal. I always want to finish with the championship, but I have been falling short.

“I received that award, but I still feel that the MVP is a team thing, because my teammates [are] helping me get that award, because I always say that I’m not the one who catches the passes [or] blocking to help me get these passes [and] things like that. That is [the] offensive line, tight ends, receivers [and] runners. It’s all of us, including all of us. I’m trying to win the championship. That is my biggest goal. That’s been my goal ever since. [I was] A little kid, but MVP of the National Football League, that’s cool. “That’s a drug.”
