Mark Consuels initially rejected the co-elanfitrion live with his wife, Kelly Ripa.
Ripa, 54, made the revelation during a recent appearance in the Not thin but not fat Podcast while remembered the first days of co-elbitrion of a show along with her husband.
“It was really convincing Mark,” he explained. “Because initially when they arrived in Mark, he refused.”
She admitted the same thing: “I also thought it was a bad idea. It was like a husband and a wife who organized a morning program is different from a husband and a wife who act together or produced something together.”
Despite its initial hesitation, the program got along with fans. “The audience really responds to Mark because Mark has an attitude of zero f ***,” Kelly said.
“There is no artifice with him. If he hates anything, he hates him aloud, regardless of how much we are supposed to love him. And when he thinks something is silly, he says no matter how much it is supposed to pretend that he likes anything.”
Ripa accredited their 31 -year relationship by helping them stay authentic in the air. “We are not worried about protecting the feelings of others. We both only say what is in mind and I guess people find it identifiable.”
Consuelos, who shares three adult children: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and JoaquĆn, 22, with RPA, officially joined the show in 2023 after the departure of Ryan Seacrest.
Ripa also revealed a pet when it comes to working with her husband on live television.
“He doesn’t listen to me frequently, and he will disconnect while we are live in the air,” he shared in the podcast.
