The head of the Baluchistan National Party (BNP-M), Akhtar Mengal, was downloaded from a flight from a private airline to Dubai, the Federal Research Agency (FIA) said on Sunday.
Taking X, Mengal said he was downloaded from the plane while traveling to Dubai since Quetta and immigration staff told him that his name was placed on the provisional national identification list (PNIL).
The politician also shared a screenshot of immigration data where his name was included “with the approval of the competent authority”, with explicit instructions to prevent him from going abroad.
When reacting to development, the former Federal Minister, Agha Hasan Baloch and Ghulam Nabi Mari, condemned the download of Mengal while further described the movement as illegal and unconstitutional.
“[Akhtar] Mengal remains a member of the National Assembly; His resignation has not yet been accepted, “said Baloch.
Mengal, a veteran politician and BNP-M chief, had renounced NA in September 2024 about the worsening of the safety situation in Baluchistan.
Earlier this year, Mengal had organized a 20 -day sitting in Mastung’s LAK pass against Baloch’s rights arrests and police action.
His party began a long Wadh march to Quetta on March 28, and protested for almost three weeks against the arrest of leaders and activists of the Balochjehti (Byc) committee, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch and had sought their release.
