Islamabad:
Security forces killed four terrorists belonging to an illegal separatist group during an intelligence -based operation (IBO) in the Kalat district at night between Saturday and Sunday.
The operation was carried out in the Pahrod area of the district based on reports on the presence of terrorists. According to an official statement, the troops effectively took their position near the hiding place of the terrorists, who were neutralized after an intense fire exchange.
The forces also confiscated a large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosive material of the hiding place. A disinfection and authorization operation was underway in the area.
The operation took place days after the terrorists opened fire against a passenger bus to Karachi in Kalat, killing at least three and wounding another seven. In another attack on July 11, the terrorists kidnapped and executed nine passengers after withdrawing them from the buses in the district of Lorealai.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Baluchistan Prime Minister, Mir Sraz Bugti, congratulated the security forces for the successful operation in separate messages.
The president pointed out that the State is determined to eradicate terrorists at all costs with the support of the nation. “The State will continue to take measures against terrorism with all its strength. Fitna-Tul-Hindustan terrorists will be persecuted until the end,” added Zardari. Terrorists belonging to prohibited separatist organizations also refer to Fitna-Tul-Hindusta due to their links with India.
In a separate message, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the entire nation is with the security forces in the war against terrorism. “The government is firm in its impulse to eradicate all forms of terrorism in the country,” he added.
Baluchistan’s prime minister, Bugti, also praised the professionalism of the forces and unwavering resolution. He expressed satisfaction with timely intelligence and the rapid response neutralized the threat.
“The rapid reaction to the terrorist activity in Pahrod is commendable. Our security forces have once again demonstrated their preparation and resolution to protect the province,” he said.
By labeling the group a threat to national stability, the CM reaffirmed the commitment of the provincial government with a decisive action against all the enemies of the State.
“The operations against the enemies of the State will continue on all fronts. Any attempt to sabotage the peace of Baluchistan will be crushed,” he said.
Bugti described the operation as a clear message to the hostile elements, declaring that the nefarious designs of fitna-tul-hindustan had been dismantled.
“His plans are found in the ruins. Our forces have defeated their evil intentions,” he said.
He tribute to the personnel involved, emphasizing that his success reflects the surveillance and dedication of Pakistan security forces. “Once again they have frustrated the malicious plans of the enemy and have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to national security,” he added.
