The surveys for the Senate elections are in full swing both in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies, with a total of 36 seats at stake in both regions.
In Punjab, the survey began at 9 am and is expected to continue until 4 pm the ruler League Muslim from Pakistan (PML-N) has nominated the chief Whip Rana Arshad as his electoral agent, with opposition members as a Shahbaz frog who represent the interests of the opposition.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 25 candidates are competing for 11 seats in the Senate, including 7 general seats, 2 technical seats and 2 seats of women.
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) and opposition matches, including Jamiat Ulema-Islam (JUI-F), the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), have presented their candidates for these seats.
Electoral officials have confirmed that, based on the first reports, 130 votes have been issued in the Punjab assembly of 369 members in total.
The media coverage has been restricted in the electoral plants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a strong police presence that guarantees the good realization of the elections.
The Electoral Commission has also declared that the candidates who withdraw after the deadline of the 12 PM on Sunday will have their names on the ballot, with a “retired” seal to denote their retirement.
