QUETTA:

The president of the Superior Court of Baluchistan, Judge Rozi Khan Barrech, has taken a warning of Suo Motu about the brutal murder of a man and a woman, allegedly killed in the name of the honor, after a video of the incident became viral on social networks.

The president of the Supreme Court Barrech has summoned the additional main secretary (home) and the Police Inspector to appear before the Court and provide information on the case on Tuesday.

The couple, who were not identified, were shot dead in order of a local tribal council last month in Baluchistan, according to the provincial authorities, which they investigated after the video went viral.

According to the Police, there has been a case under section 302 of the Pakistan Criminal Code and the relevant sections of the Anti -Terror Law.

The FIGUE declared that the male and female victims were declared “Karokari” (a term used for ‘honor murders’) in a tribal jirga directed by the Tribal Elder Sardar Sherbaz Khan Satakzai. After the verdict, they were taken in vehicles to a remote area where they were shot dead.

The applicant of the case said that the horrible act was filmed and distributed online, causing fear and panic among the public.

Eleven suspects have been arrested, said Baluchistan Prime Minister Sarfraz Bugti, in a statement on Monday, hours after announcing that the location and people in the video had been identified.

At a press conference, Bugti said both victims were already married to children. “The woman had five children and her husband’s name is Noor,” he said. “The man was also married and had six children. There was no marriage relationship between them.”

The prime minister condemned the murders as “completely inhuman” and said that neither the State nor society would tolerate such acts. “Everyone involved will be arrested and taken before justice,” he added.

Bugti pointed out that the case had become viral online, which caused a generalized public interest and erroneous information. “Many erroneously report that the two were a newly married couple. That is simply not true,” he said.

Bugti said that one of the most worrying aspects of the case was the reluctance of anyone to present and present a first information report (FIR). “The parents and children of the victims are present, but no one is registering a case,” he said.

“When the police try to investigate, men disappear from the area and the stones of women in the officers,” he added. He also revealed that the viral video of the murders did not leaked externally. “This video was not obtained from external sources. The murderers themselves published it,” he said.

The government, he said, conducts a complete investigation and intends to present the culprits in court soon. “This is an era in which the unsuccessful news extends rapidly. I urge everyone to verify the facts before sharing,” Bugti warned.

In addition, he acknowledged that parallel justice systems still influence Pakistani society. “We are part of a culture where Jirgas [tribal courts] It still operates, “he said.” But the government is taking constitutional measures against such systems. “
