PTI wins four of eleven seats in KP Senate surveys

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has assured four out of seven general seats in the Senate elections of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.

Murad Saeed de PTI received 26 unexpected votes, leading the party account. Other PTI winners in general seats include Mirza Afidi, Faisal Javed and Noorul Haq Qadri, who obtained 22, 21 and 21 votes respectively.

Opposition candidates Mauula Ataul Haq Dervish, Talha Mehmood and Niaz Ahmed also won general seats with 18, 17 and 18 votes respectively.

In the Technocrat category, Azam Swati of PTI and Dilawar Khan of PML-N came victorious, receiving 89 and 54 votes, respectively.

In the seats reserved for women, Rubina Naz and Rubina Khalid de PTI won with 89 and 52 votes. Two votes in this category were rejected during counting.

According to the Electoral Commission, 25 candidates were in operation for 11 seats in the Senate: 16 for seven general seats, five for two technocrats and four for two women’s seats.
