Jake Retzlaff has found a new home in university football.
The former Byu Field Marshal undertook verbally to transfer to Tulane, according to ESPN.
Retzlaff was verified by the background for Tulane, which included his title IX office, adds the report. It will be considered a walk when you arrive at the campus, and Retzlaff will have to compete for the initial role.

This Retzlaff movement, who is entering its fifth and last year of eligibility in the NCAA, occurs after a formal withdrawal from the school on July 11. He left the university and the football program due to the plan of the team to suspend seven games for breaking the school’s code of honor.
“After many prayers, reflection and conversations with those I trust, I have made the difficult decision to officially retire from Byu and the Byu football program,” Retzlaff published on Instagram.
“Byu has meant more for me than only football. It has been a place of growth, spiritual, mentally and physically. I am grateful for each teammate, coach, staff and fanatic who has supported me on the way.”

Retzlaff was involved in a lawsuit in May, where a woman accused him of rape in November 2023. Retzlaff denied that accusation, saying that it was consensual sex.
The lawyers of Retzlaff and the woman who accused him presented a joint motion last month in the third district court of Salt Lake City to dismiss the case, according to multiple reports.
The joint motion occurs due to “prejudice and merits of the plaintiff’s complain complaint”, which translates into the plaintiff cannot make the lawsuit again.

Byu is directed by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Saints of the last days, and participating in the premature consensual sex is a violation of the Code of Honor of the School. It is a strict set of rules that instruct students to “live a chaste and virtuous life,” according to Salt Lake Tribune.
While Retzlaff is not a Mormon, all students enrolled in Byu must follow the Code of Honor. So, who is left with eligibility as a graduate student, Retzlaff could continue to make sure he plays a full season before a potential jump to the NFL.
Retzlaff joins a Tulane team trained by Jon Sumrall, with whom he has history after being recruited to Troy before choosing Byu. While familiarity is there, ESPN reports that Sumralall is not delivering the reins to Retzlaff, since he will have to win the initial role before that happens.

It was a season of rupture for Retzlaff in 2024, since it led Byu to an 11-2 record with 2,947 yards passes with 20 touchdowns.
Sumrall’s Green Wave team had 9-5 in its debut season with the team, and hope to improve with a possible new quarter in retzlaff in the center in 2025.
