A new Nyt Strands puzzles appears at midnight every day for their time zone, which means that some people are always playing ‘game today’ while others are playing ‘yesterday’. If you are looking for Monday’s puzzles in place Then click here: NYT Strands suggests and answers for Monday, July 21 (game #505).
Strands is the last word game of the NYT after the tastes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections, and is very fun. However, it can be difficult, so keep reading for my threads.
Do you want more words based on words? Then, look at my nyt connections today and Quordle Today pages for suggestions and answers for those games, and Marc Wordle Today’s page for the original viral word game.
Spoiler warning: Nyt Strands information today is below, so don’t read if you don’t want to know the answers.

The responses to today’s threads, game #506, are …
- FISH
- BOMB
- Rocks
- TANK
- FILTER
- FLOORS
- THERMOMETER
- Spangram: Aquarius
- My qualification: Hard
- My score: Perfect
I am always surprised how well the words are hidden inside the threads. The thermometer, for example, is a fairly long word, but was totally oblivious to its existence, circling in the lower right corner, until the end of my game.
When I started looking, I thought we were looking for animals that you could buy in a pet store, so after taking fish I was looking for dogs, cats, hamsters … Then, after getting a bomb, I joined the points and found a home for the letter Q.
An aquarium should surely be classified as one of the most neglected items in western homes, a second perhaps to exercise bicycles, bought with great plans to create an exotic world full of beautiful fish, but then abandoned while everyone eats and realizes that fish are not as beautiful as you thought.
