Islamabad:
PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, opened a new Pandora box with respect to the seat exchange agreement with the opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate elections (KP).
He has declared that the leadership of the PTI made the decision to reach the agreement and the imprisoned founder of the party, Imran Khan, has not yet supported or rejected. “If the founder refuses to accept it, then we will do what he decides,” Raja said on Monday while talking to the media.
According to Raja, there were two opinions within the party about whether or not to play the Senate elections and then decided to dispute the elections after making an adjustment with the opposition
He said that for the four general seats of the Senate, the leader of the PTI, the defender of Zaheer Abbas, had presented names last week in the name of the founder.
“I don’t think Zaheer Abbas has misrepresented anything. In our party, no individual makes decisions alone. The matter was communicated to KP’s prime minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, but I can’t comment on what pressure he may have faced,” he added.
He said that the founder’s list included candidates for four general seats, a technocratic seat and a women’s seat, adding that the discussion was just about five seats.
