Kansas’ Bill Self in ‘Good Spirits’ after the emergency hospital procedure

Bill Self, the former head of the Kansas male basketball team, was hospitalized on Thursday after experiencing “some worrying symptoms.”

A University spokesman confirmed that the 62 -year -old coach had two stents inserted during a heart procedure.

Self is still “in a good mood” and is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future.

“The procedure went very well, and it is expected to recover completely,” said the school in a statement. “It is in a good mood and hopes to be discharged from the hospital soon.”

Self has patrold Kansas since 2003. In addition to the two national titles, Self trained Jayhawks 14 consecutive championships of the regular season Big 12 of 2004-2018.

In 2017, Self was included in the Basketball Hall of Basketball Naismith Memorial.
