Washington: The Vice Primer Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, said Friday that he hoped that a commercial agreement between Pakistan and the United States could be reached in a matter of days, not weeks.
“I think we are very close to ending an agreement with the US.
“It will not spend months, not even weeks, I would say (alone) days,” he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister shared these points of view after a productive bilateral meeting with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, earlier in the day; However, US officials did not offer any term with respect to the very necessary trade agreement.
“The ties between Pakistan and the United States are improving, and both parties have agreed to work on the construction of a solid long -term association,” he told the audience.
Dar pointed out that his discussion with Rubio covered a wide range of problems, with both parties expressing their willingness to strengthen cooperation in commerce, investment, technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and anti -terrorism.
“We also discuss regional and global issues.”
Give thanked the US administration led by President Donald Trump for playing a useful role in the ease of tensions between Pakistan and India.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to close cooperation in global forums, including the UN Security Council, and emphasized the need for dialogue in the Iran-Israel conflict.
Speaking about economic relations with Washington, the Vice Prime Minister said: “Pakistan wants commerce, does not help.”
“Pakistan plans to provide greater access to American products in their markets and welcome US investors in the mining sector.”
Pakistan India tensions
Speaking about Pakistan-India tensions, GIV said that the two countries should stop pointing their fingers and start generating confidence if they want to move forward.
