- BitDefender Security for Creators Now Monitors Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for unauthorized account changes or massive deletions
- More than 184 million login credentials are exposed, many linked to the creator’s social accounts
- The financial losses of online scams have crossed $ 1 billion, and creators become main objectives
The influential and digital creatives see more and more to phishing scams and the kidnapping of accounts, and Bitdefender has revealed a new platform to address this threat.
The company says it is expanding its scope to the creative economy in line with new updates of its security suite for creators, which now offers coverage for Facebook and Instagram.
Bitdefender states that their new product offers creators a more focused and proactive form of protection, which covers not only its content accounts but also its devices.
The growing threats underline the need for safety centered on the creator
According to reports, online scams and credential leaks accelerate, and Bitdefender claims that more than 184 million online login credentials were recently found, many linked to Instagram and Facebook.
At the same time, the financial losses promoted by the scam have exceeded $ 1 billion worldwide, according to recent data.
“Online creators are increasingly attacked by cybercriminals who assemble the confidence to take care of the accounts and followers of fraud or in the discharge of malware,” said Ciprian Istrate, senior vice president of operations operations, consumer solutions group in Bitdefender.
“Bitdefender Security for Creators offers the first end -to -end service to help safeguard the accounts, content and devices of the creators on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, delivering continuous and always active security as online threats evolve.”
The continuous monitoring function on the different social media platforms seeks signs of unauthorized activity, such as the massive elimination of content or changes not approved in the profile configuration.
Bitdefender says that these signs can point to possible account acquisitions, and that alerts are sent immediately if anomalies are detected.
Creators are also offered the ability to administer the safety of their account, malware scan and threat alerts of a unified control panel.
Regular antivirus scans mainly protect the device, and this design everything could attract the influential ones who juggle with multiple platforms.
From a single board, users can track device scan into different operating systems, with support for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
BitDefender plays a particular emphasis on its anti-phishing characteristics based on AI, claiming that they can detect disguised scams of association requests and even detect phishing content generated using large language models.
The company also presents support for collaborative protection, which allows creators to extend coverage to team members as social media editors or managers.
In case of commitment, users receive a recovery play book to restore accounts and administer communications with their audience.
For Bitdefender, the expansion reflects an attempt to capture a market that describes as neglected.
However, if digital creators will adopt a dedicated service instead of existing Android Antivirus applications or broader social media management tools remains the big question.
