- Dell’s laptop of $ 250 exceeds its own entry level desk and rivals more expensive models
- The cheapest Dell desktop lacks windows, while the next options begin at $ 599.99
- Less than half the price, Dell’s laptop offers PC’s complete experience with modern specifications
The desks used to be the default value for affordable computer science, offering more power, easier updates and better value.
The components can be changed, the memory increases and the pieces are repaired when necessary, which is much more difficult to see with laptops, which generally have elements such as the memory soldier instead.
But if you are looking for a budget PC, you may not want to consider a desk, case in question, Dell now offers a 15 -inch laptop for only $ 250.
Much cheaper than a desktop
The Dell 15 laptop is currently $ 130 cheaper than its usual price of $ 379.99. That is almost half of the less expensive desktop price of Dell, the client Delgado Optiplex 3000 of $ 439. It is not just costs either.
The default laptop configuration comes with Windows 11 Home, an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U processor, 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD. It also includes a Full HD 120Hz screen of 15.6 inches, Wi-Fi and ports for basic connectivity, including a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, a USB 2.0 port and a universal audio connector.
The Optiplex desktop does not execute windows, but use Dell’s Thinos, it only has 64 GB of storage on board and completely lacks Wi-Fi.
It is intended for narrow commercial environments, not of general use, so for the average buyer, it is difficult to recommend unless they are locked in a specific configuration.
Looking beyond that, Dell’s next desks prepared for Windows start at $ 599.99. The Dell Slim desktop includes a Core Ultra 5, 16 GB processor of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB SSD. It offers more power, but also costs more than double the laptop.
Dell Tower desk at $ 749.99 increases things with a Core Ultra 7, 32 GB chip of RAM and a 1TB SSD. But again, that is triple the price.
For most users, especially students, owners of small businesses or casual users, these updates may not be necessary anyway.
The laptop of $ 250 Dell 15 offers a complete experience that covers everything, from web navigation to the productivity of light.
Desktop computers still make sense for users who need maximum expansion or performance, of course, but at the low end, the gap is quickly closing. In some cases, it may already go.
