A leopardo killed an eight -year -old girl after deviating to a residential area near the control line (LOC) in Azad Jammu and the Hattian Bala de Cashmiro District, the authorities said Sunday.
According to the Police, the tragic incident took place in Pando Nala, a town located approximately 15 kilometers from Chinari and about 65 km from Muzaffrabad, the regional capital. The area is very close to the loc.
According to the reports, the predator entered the courtyard of a house and snatched the girl, taking her to the nearby forest, police said. The family and the locals began to look in the area immediately, combing close fields and forested patches with the hope of recovering the child.

Three hours later, the girl’s body was discovered in a dense thicket. A police officer said the leopard seemed to have bitten the child in his neck and suck his blood before fleeing the adjacent forest.
The authorities have urged residents in surrounding villages to remain vigilant and avoid leaving children disregarded, especially during dusk and sunrise in areas adjacent to forests. Efforts are being made to track the animal.
