Security forces killed 13 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Sararogha area of ​​South Waziristan district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

The operation, carried out by Pakistani troops based on intelligence reports, targeted the location of the terrorists, the army’s media wing said.

The ISPR said the Khwarij were reportedly involved in numerous terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.

Following the operation, a disinfection effort is underway in the area to ensure any remaining militants are eliminated.

“Pakistani security forces remain committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and maintaining peace and stability in the region,” the statement added.

Earlier on December 21, 16 brave soldiers of Pakistan’s security forces embraced martyrdom while eight militants were neutralized during a fierce exchange of fire in Makeen district of South Waziristan, according to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to army media, the clash occurred during the night of December 20-21, when a group of militants attempted to attack a security checkpoint.

The ISPR said the soldiers effectively foiled the attempt and successfully eliminated eight militants. Despite their heroic efforts, 16 soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty.
