EAU grants visa exemption to Pakistan officials

The United Arab Emirates (EAU) have granted visa exemption for the headlines of Pakistani diplomatic passports and officials.

Vice -Prime Minister Ishaq Dar made the announcement on X on Sunday, stating that the agreement was reached during his meeting with the Vice Prime Minister of the EAA and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, on June 24 in Abu Dhabi.

Dar, who also serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, said that during the meeting, both fraternal countries agreed to exempted mutual visas for diplomatic and official passports.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed so that this agreement is effective and enforceable. It was agreed that the exemption of Visa would enter into force 30 days after the signature of Mou.

“[I] I am pleased to confirm that the EAU authorities have informed me that the exemption of visa for the Pakistani diplomatic and official passports that enter the EAU, has been activated, as of July 25, 2025 in all the airports of the EAU. “

In addition, he announced that a similar reciprocal installation for the citizens of the EAU has also been implemented in all Pakistani airports.

As giving, during his meeting with the EUA Foreign Minister, both parties agreed to exemptions of mutual visa in diplomatic and official passports. “We both signed a MOU for this agreement to be effective and operational after 30 days after the signing of said Mou,” he said.

Earlier this month, the Interior Minister of the EAU, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed al Nahyan, said “total support” to accelerate visas for Pakistani citizens. Al Nahyan’s statement occurred during a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
