The prices of perishable products in the fifth week

An increase in the prices of perishable products in the province has persisted during the fifth consecutive week, along with a generalized overload that has pushed everyday vegetables outside the reach of the average consumer.

Just any vegetable is available below RS200 per kilogram, highlighting the seriousness of the price crisis.

The unbridled violations of the official tariff lists continue, which shows that a newly trained price control department has failed to have any significant impact.

This week, the price of living chicken increased in RS15 per kg to RS389-403, but sellers charged RS450-480. The chicken meat was fixed at RS584 per kg, but sold at RS 620-670, while the boneless chicken obtained RS1,100-1,100.

The Soft Potato Degree A was fixed on RS80-85 but was sold by RS 140-150; Grade B was established in RS65-70 and C of Degree C A RS55-60, with mixed varieties sold by RS120-130. The sugar-free potatoes were set at RS55-60, from degree B to RS45-50 and c-cinte to RS35-40, although mixed were sold at RS100-120.

The onions officially remained unchanged at RS45-50 per kg for grade A, but were sold to RS80-100. Grade B was sold for RS35-40 and C grade C by RS26-30, while Mixed was for RS60-70.

The tomatoes saw another increase of RS5 per kg, officially established in RS86-95 but was sold to RS150-160. Degree B was set at RS75-80 and C of Degree C A RS70-75, while mixed quality tomatoes were for RS120-130.

Only a variety of apple was set at RS150-225 but was sold to RS200-350. Category A bananas increased RS5 by dozen to RS 92-215, but were sold at RS 250-300. The category B bananas were set at RS 34-150, were sold to RS200-230, while category C was set at RS90-100 but was sold at RS150-180.

The dates increased by RS10 to RS460-490, but were sold between RS900 and RS2,000. Papaya fell RS55 to RS305-320 but was not available in the market. The Cantalupo decreased by RS20 to RS134-140 but was sold to RS150-200.

Peach fell in RS35, set at RS180-275 but sold at RS250-400. The mangoes of various types were set at RS150-260 but were sold at RS200-400. The cherry boxes remained in RS380-400 but were not available.
