Karachi: Pakistan’s U-19 volleyball team continued his dominant career in the FIVB World Championship, ensuring a fourth consecutive victory by sweeping Puerto Rico in direct sets (25-20, 25-20, 25-15) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The victory solidified even more Pakistan’s undefeated record in the tournament, since it has not dropped a single set so far.

Despite being in the 19th place in the World Youth ranking, six places below the 13th Puerto Rico, Pakistan beat his opponent in key areas.

The team registered 40 attack points compared to the 30s of Puerto Rico, although Pakistan committed fewer failures (13) in attacks than Puerto Rico (17). Yahya emerged as the prominent artist of Pakistan, contributing with 22 points, including 20 attacks, a block and a service. It was supported by Ajmal and Saud, who added seven and six points respectively, with Saud Exalting in Blocks.

Defensively, the reception and excavations of Pakistan were fundamental, with 62 successful receptions and 54 excavations.

The team also capitalized the services, scored three points and forced 24 opposing errors, while Puerto Rico achieved only 20 services errors.

Pakistan has already assured a place in the elimination stage and will play his last group match against Argentina. The consistent actions of the team have positioned him as a strong contender as the tournament progresses.
