Frieen turned the air, and his vehicle exploded in flames when he returned to the track. He was able to talk to security officials when he was transported to a nearby hospital, according to the Super Dirtcar series website.
Jessica Friesen issued a statement about her husband at dawn on Tuesday morning. She said that computerized tomographs cleared it from “any head, neck or spine injury. Unfortunately, he still has a lot of pain.”
“Stewart suffered an unstable/open pelvic fracture, which means that his pelvis is broken in two or more places, with a great bruise in the area,” reads the statement. “Stewart also has a fractured right leg. Both injuries will require surgery. Stewart was transferred to a larger hospital this morning for these procedures.”
