- Reddit users have seen a new feature in the Spotify mobile application that allows you to remove the creation button
- While users are more than happy to see it disappear, the function is only available for a handful of users
- Spotify has been calm, so we have conducted our own Reddit research to get to the background
When Spotify added the creation button to the navigation bar in the application, it was very badly received and music fans begged to remove it, mainly because it ruins muscle memory. Now, it seems that Spotify is listening to those complaints.
A few weeks ago, Android Authority reported that Spotify could be releasing a new alternative configuration that would allow him to remove the creation button from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Initially, this was speculation, but now several users have shared Reddit images that show a new lever in the ‘viewing preferences’ in the Spotify configuration. However, not everyone has access to it, including myself.
While Spotify has not made an official announcement, online speech suggests that the music transmission service could be gradually implementing since a handful of users already have access. However, despite the absence of the new function in my application, the creation button has disappeared from my interface (see below). This was confusing, so I took Reddit to see what others had to say.
Is this the end of one of Spotify’s most annoying features?
What do we know so far? Well, although Spotify is silent about the matter, Reddit evidence reveals that this feature is slowly joining the configuration ecosystem for some Spotify users. The publication below reveals this, which shows the new feature found in the ‘Content and Visualization’ section in the configuration in ‘Visualization Preferences’.

But why Spotify would you eliminate the creation button of my application without giving me access to the deactivation alternation? From the answers I have received, he suggests that a new Spotify update could be on his way.
At this time I am using version 9.0.64, that the App Store says it is the most recent. While this is the case of many people here in Techradar, most people in the team are still watching the creation button in the navigation bar, which is not the case for me. That said, a user with the shared function in Reddit that is using version 9.0.64.608, which means that Spotify could be testing different versions of the application before deciding to move forward with a deployment.
If you are still waiting to get access to the new function, they have advised me to wait another day or two before waiting for your arrival, so for now, that is what I am shooting. Meanwhile, we communicate with Spotify to confirm and update this story if we receive news.
