Trans athletes battle: Trump’s administrator reaches the title IX agreement with Wagner

The United States Department of Education announced Friday that he reached an agreement with Wagner College on the issue of biologically male trans athletes in women’s sports. The agreement cites a viral incident where the female corner Stephanie Turner Kneed to protest a trans Friday that competed for Wagner, in a Fencing event in the USA.

Wagner has agreed to apologize with all his female athletes who competed against him Trans athleteRedmond Sullivan, according to the announcement of the DOE. The school will also adopt a new biological definition for men and women in its sports programs, according to the announcement.

Turner’s images kneeling towards Sullivan in the cherry tree in Maryland became viral in early April. Turner received a black card, the toughest penalty in the sport, for his refusal to the Sullivan fence, disqualified of the event and gave a probation of 12 months.

Sullivan did not represent Wagner in the event.

Later, Wagner told Pak Gazette Digital that Sullivan was no longer in the fencing team. The NCAA had changed its gender eligibility policy to comply with the executive order of President Donald Trump on the subject in early February.

But now Wagner is directly complying with the Trump administration to address the incident.

The agreement comes only weeks after the University of Pennsylvania reached a similar agreement on the 2022 Lia Thomas controversy.

“On The Heels of Our Agreement with the University of Pennsylvania, The Trump Administration Secured Another Histle Title IX Agreement with Wagner College. After Stephanie Turner, A Female Athlete, Bravely Take a Knee and Forfeit A Fencing Match Against A Male Competing in A Female category Our Office for Civil Rights Launched Is Investigation Into Wagner College and The University of Maryland, where the Event Was Hosted.

“Due to the leadership of President Trump, the tide is resorting to the campus of our nation. We praise Wagner College for working with the department to repair their damage to female athletes and ensure that future generations of women and girls have the same opportunity.”

The Education Department provided a list of conditions:

  • Wagner will amend your sports policy to adopt biology -based definitions for “male” and “female” words in accordance with title IX;
  • Wagner will issue a public statement to the university community indicating that it will comply with Title IX, specifying that the title IX prohibits Wagner from allowing male students to compete in female athletic programs and occupy female intimate facilities;
  • The declaration will specify that Title IX applies independently of current or future policies that may conflict with the declaration, and that Wagner will not delegate its obligation to comply with title IX to an external association that discriminates on the basis of sex;
  • Wagner will publish the statement in an outstanding location on its main website and on each of its websites for female athletics;
  • Wagner will terminate any guidance that authorizes men to compete in female athletics, eliminate or review internal and public statements or documents that are inconsistent with title IX, and notify all personnel and female athletics teams of all those termination; and
  • Wagner will issue a personalized apology letter to any Wagner College fencing and will issue a public statement to apologize to all female athletes who had to compete against a man in an Wagner athletics program designated for women.
  • According to the agreement, Wagner has reviewed whether any male student athlete competing in female athletics for Wagner College received any individual registration or recognition of Wagner’s individual athletics for athletic competitions and determined that such recognitions were not received.
