The New York Yankees launched the starting pitcher Marcus Stroman on Friday.
Stroman, 34, was released to leave space for the pitchers that the team acquired on the deadline for exchange.
The Yankees acquired the two-time All-Star David Bednar of the Pittsburgh pirates, the All-Star Camilo Doval de los Gigantes de San Francisco and Jake Bird of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Bednar, 30, had an effectiveness of 2.37 with 17 rescues in 38 tickets for pirates. Doval, 28, has an effectiveness of 3.09 with 15 rescues in 46.2 entries. Bird, 26, has an effectiveness of 4.73 in 53.1 entries released.

Schlittler, 24, has impressed in its three openings when its fast ball is located in the 90s, occasionally playing 100 mph. It has a record of 1-1, an effectiveness of 4.91 and 15 strikeouts in 14.2 entries in the season.
The current initial rotation of the Yankees consists of Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Luis Gil (who will make his debut in the season on Sunday after losing the beginning of the season with an injury), Will Willren and Schlittler.
