KP reports the 11th case of polyomyelitis


Islamabad:

A recently confirmed polyomyelitis case in KP has raised total polio cases this year to 18, the regional reference laboratory for the eradication of polio at the National Institute of Health said on Friday.

The last case involves a 10 -month tank child, the 11th case of KP in 2025.

The Pakistan polyomyelitis eradication program warned that each unaccinated child remained at risk and could contribute to the propagation of the virus. He said that the only effective protection against polyomyelitis was repeated dose of polyomyelitis vaccine for each child under five in each campaign, along with appropriate essential immunizations.
