Norton has introduced a new feature that aims to help users detect audio and video content of Deepfake on their smartphones
Norton Deepfake protection will be part of Norton Genie’s AI assistant in Norton 360 mobile applications, since so far, it was only available on co -driver+ selected PCs, and was considered a “early access” phase.
Now, Norton is spreading the availability of the tool, allowing even those without the PC of AI defend themselves against sophisticated scams.

A Deepfake video or audio is a created multimedia file that uses AI to realistically imitate the appearance, voice or actions of a person, often made by training automatic learning models in real images or recordings.
This type of content was already observed in different scams, and Norton says that the tool provides “an additional layer of contextual protection” by detecting weak inconsistencies or deformations in the physical characteristics of people who appear in videos.
For now, the tool only supports YouTube videos in English, but there are plans to expand the platform and language support in the future.
Any person interested in testing the tool can load YouTube links to the assistant to receive “real -time guidance on the authenticity of the video”.
The tool is available in mobile products Norton 360 in the US, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, on Android and iOS devices. The desktop support will come soon, “added Norton.
