RAWALPINDI:
The Invasions Unit of the Municipal Traffic Police carried out an operation in the Bara Market against intrusions and illegal parking that disturbed circulation.
During the operation, a merchant resisted and an altercation occurred with traffic personnel, which led the merchant to adopt an unethical attitude. As a result, a case was opened against the merchant.
According to the police, during the invasion operation at Bara market, the trader clashed with the traffic personnel and behaved inappropriately. The City Traffic Officer (CTO) of Rawalpindi immediately took note of the incident and ordered strict legal action. A formal complaint was later filed at the local police station.
Officials stated that the purpose of the operation was to alleviate traffic jams and other related problems faced by the public. The CTO emphasized that strict action will be taken against those responsible for encroachment, illegal parking and traffic law violations. He also assured that the City Traffic Police is working to ensure better travel facilities for the public.
The CTO condemned the incident at Bara Market, calling it unacceptable and made it clear that harassment of staff working for public welfare will not be tolerated.
