Noah Lyles took the 200 meter final in the US Athletics Championships, but there was some tension after the race with Kenny Bednarek, the sprinter who ended just behind him.
Bednarek pushed Lyles, who was looking at him after crossing the finish line, and the two immediately got tense when Lyles was seen screaming something in Bednarek.
Bednarek went to Lyles’s hand, but the latter did not move as he looked at him. Bednarek was seen explaining something to Lyles, which seemed to say “I hope my apology”, before they separated.

Initially, the crowd did not see the thrust, but when the video repetition showed it in the Jumbotron on the track in Eugene, Oregon, a strong reaction occurred.
This is a rivalry between Lyles and Bednarek, the last of which end with silver in the 200 meters at the Paris Olympic Games. Lyles ended with bronze in what is expected to be his best event given his victory over Bednarek in the Olympic tests of the United States 2024.
Lyles, who had already won the gold of 100 meters, expected to be crowned as the 200 -meter champion, consolidating himself as the fastest man in the world. Letsile Tebogo de Botswana won that race in Paris, marking the first Olympic gold medal in the country.

But although Lyles is a three -time world champion that one expects to win each race for those who enter the starting blocks, Bednarek had not lost once in the male sprinter circuit this year.
Then, after overcoming Bednarek on the section, Lyles knew exactly what he was doing looking back on the way. Bednarek was clearly frustrated at the time with the thrust and the lyles, the arms wide and barking backwards, he added fuel to this rivalry that will surely be seen on the world stage next month in Tokyo.
During his interview after the race together, the tension was still high as they went and went to each other.

“You’re right,” Lyles told Bednarek.
“I expected a call,” Bedarek told him. “I tell you that, if you have a problem, I expected a call. That’s all I am saying.”
“Do you know what? You’re right,” Lyles replied. “Let’s talk after this.”
When the interview began, it was difficult not to ask what the verbal altercation was about, although Bednarek said he would say nothing on the track.
“But we have something to do and talk. That’s all I have to say,” he said.
