They have told you a million times about how wonderful the vinyl is, but you hear much less about the CDs, and that is something good, because the relative lack of modernity means that the cost of the CD of good condition is often a fraction of what you would pay for the same record in the vinyl. Yes, like me, you like to save money as much as you like to listen to music, so a CD player is still an intelligent addition to your system.
The Chinese Shanling firm manufactures some impressive CD players, including those that have integrated amplification. And just draw a new player called CD80 II (through Darko Audio), with amplification of high power headphones for the ears and cable IEM, and with high quality Bluetooth transmission so you can play music from your phone, computer or tablet.
SHANLING CD80 II: Key characteristics and prices
The Shanling CD80 II takes the compact CD80 and offers a new DAC system and a very improved CD loader too. The fourth generation CD loader comes from the most advanced CD-S100 model, with an HD450 laser and a family tray style mechanism.
Within the Ess DAC of the previous model it has been replaced by a Logic Cirrus CS43198, and is combined with amps of SGM8262 dual headphones to conduct balanced 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs. They deliver 215MW and 850MW in 32 ohms respectively, with a friendly departure impedance for the monitor in the ear of less than 1 ohms.
The Bluetooth entrance is Bluetooth 5.0 with support for LDAC, as well as the AAC and SBC family, and there is also a USB input with support for 2TB units to play files, as high -resolution audio up to PCM 384kHz and DSD256.
Many things are happening here, but Shanling has managed to pack it in a very small box of 28 x 20 x 5 cm, so it is small enough to even the most tight settings.
The new Shanling CD80 II has a recommended price by the US of $ 359; No other prices have been announced, but in the United Kingdom the first generation model had a typical price of £ 339.
