Former UFC fighter Ben Askren says that he turned to faith after waking up from a medically induced coma and undergoing a double lung transplant after a severe case of pneumonia.

“There were several times when they thought he was dead. As if he was dead, that’s the other side,” Askren said in the video. “I woke up and decided that I was a Christian. So that is crazy.”

“I went with my wife to the church for 15 years because that was part of the deal. I said: ‘Well, I’m not a Christian, but I’ll support you.’ And it was really strange when I woke up, I’m like ‘I have to do it.’ Do you know? He continued.
