Seven years after playing her last NFL game, the former Kansas Star star City Chiefs, Derrick Johnson, is focusing her attention on educating the youth of America.

Johnson, who published his first book for children on Thursday, felt forced to join the effort to encourage children to defend themselves against thugs after witnessing a negative influence on American youth in recent years.

He blames “the devil” for this influence.

“The enemy really loves to take our children in a corner to say: ‘Hey, no one is told about anything, just internalize it,” Johnson told Pak Gazette Digital. “The enemy is the devil. I am a great believer in Jesus Christ, and the enemy is always working, especially for children who have potential.

“And if children do not have mentors around them, the enemy can manipulate them sometimes and make things seem more than it is and makes them seem that they do not have a way out. And that is when you get into children really isolating themselves.”

Johnson encouraged parents to instill the teachings of Jesus Christ in their children to help counteract these “harmful” elements.

“If you are a son of God, no one can mitigate that light. Then, they bought you at a high price, for the blood of Jesus Christ, so it allows you to be here,” Johnson said on the effect of Christianity on the raising of children. “Being able to have that identity in Christ is everything. It allows them to stay on land, not that life is perfect if you have the Church … but at least you have the right tools for things to happen.”

Johnson cited modern digital devices as a channel on how this negative influence has been imposed on children and prevented them from speaking and going back against “harmful” forces in their lives.

“Digital devices make us less pleasant,” Johnson said. “Children face those iPhones, and you never know what they see there. And they don’t even have to do it on purpose, it’s just attention … Now, there is cybernetic harassment, there are many different ways of intimidating someone and really killing their trust through social networks and other things.”

As the son of a veteran teacher, the former supporter also pointed out a decrease in the quality of public education in the United States.

“It’s getting worse. And that’s why I’m in this fight,” Johnson said about American public education. “My mother is a teacher for more than 40 years, I know what young people means to serve a high level … and, many times, they only need more help and more resources so that they can really boost the mission.

“Public schools are in point … we have to pay more attention to them, more resources, pump more money there and use it in the right way, obviously not only an amount in dollars, but to use it strategically.”

Johnson is doing his part to try to contribute his experience to American education with his new book “Super DJ Saves Field Day”. Johnson said he is already planning to write sequelae and create a series.
