The Los Angeles Chargers offensive line has received a significant blow. The left Tackle All-Pro, Rashawn Slater, will be set aside throughout the 2025 season with a broken rotroll tendon, the team confirmed.
Slater left Thursday’s practice at the back of a medical cart. He was remarkably devastated during his return trip inside the team complex, hitting his fist in the car and throwing his helmet.
The 26 -year -old is expected to undergo surgery to repair the torn tendon. The Chargers moved to Slater to the injured reserve.

Slater was running a block during a team exercise when he fell to the ground. He quickly grabbed his left leg while laying on the grass with remarkable pain. Slater could not stop on the leg, so his teammates and trainers of Chargers helped the liner of 315 pounds to stand up.

Less than two weeks ago, Slater signed an extension of the record contract that linked it to the Chargers in the foreseeable future. The agreement made Slater the best paid offensive liner of the NFL in the average annual salary.
The agreement was valued at $ 113 million and includes $ 92 million in guarantees, Espn reported.

“That is something you don’t want to see,” said Chargers’ external supporter, Tuli Tuipulotu. “Not only Rashawn, but any of our players.”
The Chargers reinforced their offensive line in each of the last two coasts. The team selected Joe Alt in the first round of 2024 and signed Mekhi Becton guard in March. The chief coach of the Second year Chargers, Jim Harbaugh, said he was recently “optimistic” on the offensive line that was heading to the 2025 season.

Becton has been marginalized since July 28 with an unspecified injury. Alt could move to the left Tackle while Chargers’s offensive line prepares for great reorganization.
Last season, with the presence of Slater, the Chargers offensive committed only eight ball losses, a low franchise record. The chargers tied in the best offensive losses NFL history.
