- Available for Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
- Requires Android 16 and an UI 8
- A user interface remains a beta version for some galaxies phones
As promised, Samsung has begun the deployment of Gemini support to its Galaxy Buds 3 headphones. It is a free update, and it is quite easy to obtain and install. But there is a warning: you may have to install beta software on your phone.
Gemini does not run on the headphones themselves, it is too demanding to run natively, so it needs your phone or tablet to act as a messenger between the mouth and the ears of Gemini.
As reported by 9to5google, at this time the updates seem to be exclusively for phones that run the One UI 8 on the top of Android 16. That is installed in the factory at the Galaxy Z FOLD 7 and in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but for the Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 series it is still a beta-ie. A version prior to the launch of the operating system, which while available (for a select user group) is intended for the tests.
How to get Gemini at the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro
If you have a Galaxy S25 or more series, the stable version of the ONE UI 8 software is not due until the end of September 2025. However, there is a beta version and starting next week will be available for more devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, the galaxy z fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 models. Z Flips and several Asssses models.
Once you have an IU 8 in operation, the next stage is to verify software updates for your headphones … and then pray. I am being dramatic there, but only slightly: Gemini’s update is “unstable” and the results may differ from one device to another.
If you have the update, you should now see a new option “Configure Google Digital Assistant” at the top of the voice controls section in the Samsung application. This allows you to configure Gemini’s integration with your smartphone or tablet.
