Rawalpindi:

The security forces frustrated an important attempt to infiltrate Afghanistan, killing at least 33 terrorists in the Zhob district of Baluchistan, the army said in a statement on Friday, and added that a “disinfection operation” is in progress for residual terrorist elements in the area.

The movement of a considerable Khwarij group belonging to the Indian Indian Fitna al Khwarij was detected by security forces in the Zhob Sambaza area at night between August 7 and August 8, the wing of the media of the hand, the ISPR, in a statement. They tried to infiltrate the Pakistan-Fanistan border.

“The troops themselves committed and effectively frustrated their attempt to infiltrate. As a result of the precise, bold and skillful commitment, 33 khwarij sponsored by the Indians were sent to hell,” he added. “A large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives also recovered.”

The terrorists of the illegal Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the group responsible for much of terrorist violence in the country, has been officially designated as “Fitna al Khwarij” who claim that they receive financial and material support from the Intelligence Agency of India RAW.

“A disinfecting operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Khwarij that is in the area,” added the ISPR. “Pakistan security forces remain resolved and unwavering in their commitment to defend the borders of the Nation and eradicate the threat of terrorism sponsored by the country of the country.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces to successfully frustrate the infiltration attempt. “The brave staff of security forces risked their lives to stop terrorists and frustrate their nefarious designs,” he said in a statement issued by his office.

The prime minister emphasized the support of the nation to the security forces, saying that “the entire nation is with the security forces in their fight against terrorism.” He reiterated his commitment to eliminate all forms of terrorism in the country and stressed the government’s determination to maintain peace and security.

The TTP and its affiliated groups had fled through the border to Afghanistan after their defeat in an important military operation, with a name in Zarb-E-AZB code, in the old tribal areas of Pakistan in 2014. There, they found safe reflections that have since used as launch platforms for attacks within Pakistan.

In Afghanistan, the TTP developed a symbiotic relationship with other terrorist groups, particularly the Baluchistan Liberation Army (Bla), to intensify attacks in Pakistan. Pakistani officials say they have credible evidence of tactical and strategic coordination between the Majeed lethal brigade of Bla and the TTP.

These statements were reinforced by the last report of the UN Security Council, which explicitly establishes that the BL, including its Majeed brigade, and the TTP maintains the “narrow coordination” in its terrorist activities. The report cites high profile and complex attacks claimed by these groups in 2025 to illustrate the level of operational synchronization between them.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Taliban regime to honor its commitment under Doha’s agreement so as not to allow Afghan soil to be used by any transnational group against other countries in the region and beyond. However, the Taliban regime has been reluctant to take action against these groups, amid reports that seeks to use them as an influence on negotiations with neighboring states.
