QUETTA:

An explosion in a railway way in the Mastung district of Baluchistan derailed six Bogies of Jaffar Express on Sunday, although no loss of lives was reported, authorities said.

The explosion occurred near Spezant in Dasht Tehsil, pointing to the passenger train and damaging his locomotive along with several coaches, authorities confirmed.

According to Levies authorities, an explosive device planted on the road detonated as the train passed, forcing the engine and five bogies out of the rails. The sudden shaking put Jaffar Express to an abrupt.

Rescue teams and rail staff quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate passengers and guarantee their safety. The security forces sealed the area and launched a search operation to track those responsible for sabotage.

The authorities said the explosives were manufactured locally, highlighting persistent security concerns in the province. The Jaffar Express, which operates between Quetta and Rawalpindi, has previously been the objective of similar attacks.

A formal investigation has begun, and after the explosion, security measures increased throughout the region. Baluchistan trains services to other parts of the country were temporarily suspended.

The last attack occurs only three days after the Jaffar Express, bound for Quetta, dodged the disaster by little in Sibi, where a pump planted near the track exploded moments after the passenger train had passed.

On July 24, there was another closed shaving when a powerful explosion crossed the Quetta -Sibi section, damaging a Bogie of the Bolan mail.

Similarly, the derailment of July 28 of the Jaffar Express in Sikkur of Sindh was initially blamed for an explosion. However, the Ministry of Railroads attributed it to a technical failure.

In June, an explosive device detonated remotely installed on the tracks caused four Bogies of the Express Jaffar to derail in Jacobabad. No injuries were reported in that incident.

In April, Karachi’s train to Quetta was arrested at the Jacobabad train station due to security threats.

The trains services between Quetta and the rest of the country were only restored on March 27 after being suspended earlier that month due to unprecedented kidnapping of Jaffar Express, bound for Peshawar.
