Polk Audio has updated its outdoors outdoors atrium, which start at $ 225 very affordable (so around £ 169 or au $ 345, more or less).
Polk has been doing outdoor speakers during the ages, the atrium launched for the first time in 1991, and the latest models come with better weather resistance, more versatile assembly options and “improved sonic performance”, which Polk should not be taken lightly.

There are four models in the range: the atrium 4, the atrium 5, the atrium 6 and the atrium 8SDI. Prices vary from $ 225 per pair for atrium 5 to $ 550 for atrium 8SDI.
The average range controllers are now stuffed or air injection polypropylene, the same materials used in the polk LSI series, and tweeters are anodized aluminum. Atrium 6, 7 and 8SDI also obtain low -resistant water ventilation, which increases the low end by around 3DB.
Both tweeters and woofers have rubber edges, and speakers have a new wide coverage deflector design that Polk says it offers a better sound dispersion than previous models. Grilles and supports are aluminum to eliminate oxidation problems and make the speakers last more outdoors.
Another key update is the new Speed-Lock assembly system, which Polk says that the installation makes the installation much easier, so much that it can install the speakers with one hand “even in locations difficult to reach.”
As before, Atrium speakers come with a wide range of compliance standards, including ASTM D5894-UV Salt FOG, one thousand standard 810 immersion and mill-STD 883 Method 1009.8 for salt and corrosion.
The new atrium speakers are now available in black or white, and Polk says they are also paintable, so it can customize them to fit any outdoor decoration.
