Strands is the last word game of the NYT after the tastes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections, and is very fun. However, it can be difficult, so keep reading for my threads.
Do you want more words based on words? Then, look at my nyt connections today and Quordle Today pages for suggestions and answers for those games, and Marc Wordle Today’s page for the original viral word game.
Spoiler warning: Nyt Strands information today is below, so don’t read if you don’t want to know the answers.

NYT Strands Today (game #527) – The answers
The responses to today’s threads, game #527, are …
- DOUBLE
- DUPLICATE
- Similar
- REPLICA
- FACSIMILE
- SPANGRAM: Copy that
- My qualification: Hard
- My score: 1 track
Today’s threads were diabolically complicated, partly due to the duration of words.
The theme gave me a great track of what we were looking for, but I still needed a clue to start.
After being equipped, the double saw a copy and that separately as words that are not played before stuck to invent the spangram.
I love the idea that Doppelgangers wander around the world, without realizing that a replica version lives their lives to thousands of miles away. When I was a child, my dad returned a vacation brochure that had what I thought it was a photo of my mother and my sister on the cover, except that it was not.
That brochure was shown to anyone who visited for years and all were horrified by similarity. Recently, on a visit home, I found it in a drawer and I was surprised by the photo, I had just been seduced by the idea.
I wonder if my doppelgenger is playing threads at this time …
Yesterday Nyt Strands responses (Monday, August 11, game #526)
