The United States has appointed the Baluchistan Liberation Army (Bla) and its alias, the Majeed Brigade, as foreign terrorist organizations (FTO), confirmed the State Department in a statement on Monday.
The statement also said that the Majeed Brigade has also added as alias to the previous Global Terrorist (SDGT) list of Bla, which makes it a crime in the United States to provide support to the groups.
Bla was first designated as specially designated global terrorists (SDGT) in 2019 after multiple terrorist attacks. Since then, the group has attributed the responsibility of more violent incidents, including the attacks carried out by the Majeed Brigade, the statement added.
The Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, declared that today’s action underlines the commitment of the Trump administration to counteract terrorism. “Terrorist designations play a fundamental role in our fight against this scourge and are an effective way to reduce support for terrorist activities,” Rubio said.
In July, Pakistan urged the international community to adopt objective and non -discriminatory policies to address the global threat of terrorism through collective efforts, while requested the inclusion of terrorist organizations such as the Majeed Brigade, such as a Alias de Bla, in international terrorist lists.
The new step occurs when President Donald Trump increases contact with Pakistan, which was maintained by his predecessor Joe Biden, whose administration resented the role of Islamabad in the two decades war in Afghanistan.
In 2024, Bla was attributed responsibility for suicidal attacks near Karachi airport and the Gwadar Port Authority complex. In March 2025, the group said that he kidnapped the Jaffar Express train that was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, killed 31 civilians and security personnel and received more than 300 passengers as hostages.
Last month, the Trump administration also appointed as terrorists a shady group guided by an April attack in Jammu and assholy of illegally busy, which New Delhi blamed Pakistan. An Islamabad accusation denied categorically.
