Imran Search for the Skmch board for checking

Islamabad:

The founding president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, presented a petition in the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC), seeking the training of a medical board that includes doctors of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) for its monthly health controls, citing concerns about its weight loss and the risk of multiple diseases.

The petition, presented through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, asks the court to order an immediate medical examination within three days as provisional relief.

In addition, it seeks directives for exam reports that will be shared with both the court and with the Imran family until a final decision is reached.

The plea argues that Imran’s weight has fallen, which increases the fear of underlying medical conditions.

Meanwhile, according to KP’s general lawyer, Shah Faisal, the two sisters of the imprisoned leader have confirmed their remarkable weight loss, who believe it could be a symptom of illness.

Speaking to Express News, Faisal said they were not currently allowed meetings, and added that during a rare visit of their sisters, they observed a remarkable weight reduction.

“Weight loss is often a sign of some underlying disease. That is why the prime minister directed the presentation of this request in the IHC that constitutes a joint of the doctors of Shaukat Khanum for examination so that the diagnosis and treatment can begin. This is a matter of basic human rights,” he said.

The application, submitted by Prime Minister Gandapur, defender Raja Zahoorul Hassan, emphasizes that Imran, 72, requires routine medical evaluations. He points out that during his imprisonment, his weight has decreased, raising concerns about his health.

In addition, he points out that SKMCH already has the full medical history of Imran and asks the court to allow his medical team to perform monthly exams and necessary evidence.
