- Microsoft OneNote finally gets the option to hit without format
- You can use the usual keyboard shortcuts or right click
- Windows, Mac and browser versions get update
More than two decades after OneNote came to the shelves for the first time, Microsoft has finally added what we would reasonably expect to be a central characteristic, saving many unnecessary discomforts that users have had to deal with so far.
As of August 2025, Onenote now admits stuck or attached only by text without formatting: “The non -coincident sources, uncomfortable background colors or unwanted styles” will no longer be presented if you don’t want them.
Fortunately, you will not need to do anything special to activate the function, only use the same keyboard shortcuts you already use in other applications to copy only the text: CTRL+SHIFT+V (Windows) either CMD+SHIFT+V (MAC).
Onenote finally has pasta without the format option
In addition to the direct access of the keyboard, users can also place the cursor in OneNote, right click, select Paste options and click ‘Maintain only text’.
“No more non -coincident sources, uncomfortable background colors or styles by extracting information from other applications; instead, bring content to Onenote as a text without format, which automatically coincides with the appearance of your notebook,” explained the product manager of OneNote Bola Soney in a blog post.
Windows version 2508 (Compilation 19101,10000) or posterior and Mac Build 16,100 (25080335) or posterior will get access to the central function, as well as to the web version of OneNote, but it could be launching the insidents first so that other users have to wait for a short time to obtain it.
Microsoft may have decided not to concentrate on the glue without format because the application was designed for research notes where format preservation could have been useful, however, due to high demand, the company has finally added a characteristic that should have been part of OneNote from the beginning.
