The New York Mets were hot on Tuesday night against the Braves of Atlanta, so much that the Citi Field crew used its entire piro for the theatrical home run.
The METS criticized six home runs from Los Bravos launchers in their 13-5 victory. Spencer Stider and Austin Cox were labeled for three dining rooms each. Pete Alonso and Francisco Alvarez had two home runs each, with Brandon Nimmo and Brett Bitch contributing to the rest.

After the sixth homer of the night, the Mets had to give fans the difficult news: “No more pyro.”
“Due to too many homes, unfortunately we have run out of fireworks for the night,” said a message at the Citi Field Videoboard. “We apologize for discomfort.”
The two home runs of Alonso took him to the top of the home runs of all time of the organization. It has 28 homers in the year and 254 of all time. He beat Darryl Strawberry with the feat.

“When I was a child, you really do not think it is in the field of the possibility of being a franchise home run leader,” Alonso said after the game. “You just want to get to the big leagues and give it your best. And the dream is really this opaque and unknown thing. You just want to get there and compete, play for a world series and play winning baseball.
“I mean, it’s a wild dream, to be honest, and it’s really special.”
The Mets shared a Strawberry message on their social media platforms.
“You’ve worked hard, you’ve standing in the pressure of New York City and you’ve played well,” Strawberry said. “He is well deserved. You are a player of your own. Again, congratulations and continues to have great success. All the best, friend.”
