Karachi:
The judge of the Superior Court of the Superior Court of Justice (SHC) Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar has said that a plan to establish more courts has been completed and increase the number of civil judges. He also urged social networks to be used positively and not to spread negativity in society.
I was talking at the inauguration of the free legal investigation service organized by DG lawyers. Judge Ghaffa said that through recent amendments, civil cases had changed the SHC to the district courts to minimize the inconveniences to the litigants and simplify the transfer process. Problems related to jurisdiction in civil matters have also been solved.
The president of the Supreme Court said the plan for more courts had been discussed with the president of the president of Pakistan together with the construction of a judicial complex. He said that at a recent meeting of the Supreme Court, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) was also discussed and it was decided to frame a policy for it. He clarified that the judgments could not be produced with a click or can prepare cases by pressing a single button, although the support was being completely used.
He said that the SHC had updated his team, established a investigation cell with civil judges and improved its official website to include detailed judgments and case information. The orders downloaded from the site can now be verified through a monitoring system, and the certified copy system was being computerized.
Judge Ghaffar said that in Karachi, the affidavits in the cases of the higher courts could now be crowded from any circuit bank, and that the work was underway to make the same installation available for the affidavits of the district courts. The judgments, together with Case Diaries, would also go up to the website.
By advising the public, he said: “People should not spread harmful content on social networks, but to share positive things.”
Speaking at the event, the president of the Bar Association of the Court of the Superior Court of Sindh (SHCBA), Barriquer Sarfaraz Metlo, said the Bar Association was working for the welfare of the lawyers and the supremacy of the law and the Constitution, but their projects were not publicized.
He said that after the change of civil courts, the infrastructure of the existing district court had become insufficient and the number of civil judges should increase. A free transport service was being executed between the SHC, the Municipal Court and the Malir Court for the convenience of the lawyers, he added.
The ceremony was attended by Judge Agha Faisal, Bar officials and higher lawyers. According to the free legal investigation service, lawyers will now have access to the information in the case of 1947 to 2025.
