A failure broke out in a WNBA game on Wednesday night between Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun, which resulted in multiple executions.

The incident occurred with approximately six remaining in the second quarter. The guard of the sky Rebecca Allen and the sun striker Bria Hartley became tangled by fighting for a rebound. Allen’s teammate, Ariel Atkins, seemed to run from the other side of the court and ran to Hartley during the entanglement.

The players of both teams should be delayed, since Hartley and Atkins seemed to say some things not so friendly to each other. Hartley and Allen were expelled for their role in the failures, and Atkins was thrown because it was a “mechanical staircase,” according to ESPN.

Sky’s chief coach Tyler Marsh regretted that the intensity between the two teams came so far and said the officials “overlooked” a Hartley elbow to Allen’s face.

“I think things like that tend to happen when there is no control in the game before,” said Marsh. “In general, there is an incident that is overlooked that leads to something like that.

“(Allen) clearly codified in the face right in front of the referee, and it was not called. Then there were other things. It is unfortunate for us. Two players who play high quality and high value for us.”

Sun players have been in heated times this season, especially against Indiana’s fever, when Marina Mabrey and Jacy Sheldon were wrapped with Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham in separate incidents earlier this year.
