Police deployed comprehensive security plans for Chehlum processions

Before Chehlum processions scheduled for August 15 (Friday), the Islamabad and Karachi police have marked extensive security plans, with thousands of staff deployed in both cities to guarantee security and realization without problems of religious meetings.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, during a press conference at the Imambargah Central in G-6, declared that the Islamabad police have established an integral security plan for the Chehlum procession in the Federal Capital.

The plan has been developed with reference to the last five years of security arrangements. According to the details shared by the additional inspector (AIG) Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, an integral security strategy has been established to guarantee peace and order throughout the city during religious commemorations.

Of the total deployment, 7,465 police and personnel officers will be parked along the routes of 108 processions, while 2,901 officers will be on service in 501 Majalis (religious meetings). 1,113 additional officers will be deployed to ensure 642 Imambargahs in Karachi.
