Caitlin Clark appeared emotionally distraught at the postgame press conference following the Indiana Fever’s 113-96 loss to the Atlanta Dream and archrival Angel Reese.
The superstar had his head down and spoke in a somber tone as he responded for his team’s second-half collapse, claiming that everything his team did “was a foul.” The Fever committed 29 personal fouls in the loss.
“What we did well in the first half was play in transition, spray, find open people. Um, and then it’s really hard to do that when all we do is foul and they score,” Clark said.

Clark also had seven of his team’s 19 turnovers in the game.
“We have to take better care of the ball and that starts with me,” Clark said.
Between turnovers, Clark also appeared to roll her eyes while White spoke to her during the game, as clips of the moment went viral on social media.
White also responded to his team’s foul problems in the game and did not rule out that the referees are calling more fouls on them.

“I think about both a little bit,” White said when asked if foul problems are “correctable” or if it’s a matter of “how they’re called.”
“Obviously, there’s been an emphasis on calling a lot of fouls. Freedom of movement has been an emphasis. We’ve seen fouls absolutely increase. Um, you know, I think individually, um, there’s certainly some things we can do to avoid being so vulnerable and collectively there’s some things we can do to support each other and not be in those positions.”

Clark had several emotional moments throughout the game.
In the first quarter, Clark picked up the ball and, after being fouled near the top of the key by the Dream’s Jordin Canada, Reese slapped the ball into his hands. Clark was offended by the act and eventually fired Reese. The exchange came about a minute after Clark hit a 3-pointer in Reese’s face.
It marked Clark and the Fever’s second loss to Reese’s Dream in a three-day span, after the Dream won a matchup Thursday in Indiana 108-101.
The Fever are now 9-7 and continue to play below the expectations the team had at the beginning of the season.
Clark finished the game with 26 points, three rebounds and seven assists.

The Dream are 11-4 and in first place in the WNBA Eastern Conference.
