Draymond Green refuses to let Charles Barkley bury the Warriors and delivers a cutting jab to the Rockets in the air

Wednesday night on “Inside the NBA” It was less of a pregame show and more of a barbecue session when Draymond Green joined the desk.

The Golden State forward began feuding with Charles Barkley as the Mound Bounce Round mocked the sinking ship that is the Warriors dynasty.

The tension began when Sir Charles decided to praise the Dubs while looking Green directly in the eyes.

“It’s over for the Warriors. No disrespect. It’s over for all the old teams,” Barkley said.

“You had your career; you got older; you let Klay go. You and Steph are on the backside of your careers; he just passed you by.”

Barkley kept his foot on the accelerator.

While he credited the Warriors for “one of the best streaks ever,” he made it clear that Father Time remains undefeated in the paint.

“Sports… listen, sports are for young people,” Barkley added. “You hope to have a long and great career, but in sports… nobody wins when they’re 37, 38 years old.”

As expected, Draymond couldn’t stand the jokes.

He waited for the opening and went for the jugular, referencing Barkley’s infamous twilight years in Texas.

“Yeah, I mean, I think the goal is just not to look like yourself in a Houston Rockets uniform,” Green responded.

The jab was a direct jab at Barkley’s ring-chasing era in Houston, where the Hall of Famer was famous for being a shadow of his MVP self.

Green then went into a rare moment of veteran self-awareness and admitted that the Warriors are in a transition phase, but insisted that pedigree matters more than scoring.

“I think understanding what success is right now is key for us,” Green explained. “Knowing and understanding that it may not be realistic to win a championship, but can we continue to work towards it so that once we leave this organization, it’s still in a great space?”

Even though Draymond talked about maintaining a winning pedigree, this year was a harsh wake-up call for the Golden State faithful.

The Warriors’ season ended with a whimper as they finished 10th in the West and were immediately eliminated in the play-in tournament.

Barkley might think the light is going out, but Draymond will clearly keep swinging his way out.
